The 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, also known as the "2022 Hangzhou Asian Games", is the third time that China has hosted the highest standard international comprehensive sports event in Asia after the 1990 Beijing Asian Games and the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games.On July 19, 2022, the Olympic Council of Asia announced that the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou 2022, originally scheduled to be held from September 10 to 25, 2022, would be held from September 23 to October 8, 2023, with the name and logo of the event remaining unchanged.

The competition events of the Hangzhou Asian Games are set up as follows: 40 major events, 61 sub-events and 481 minor events.The 40 major competition events include 31 Olympic events and 9 non-Olympic events. At the same time, on the premise of keeping the 40 major events unchanged, two new competition events, E-sports and break dancing, will be added.The Hangzhou Asian Games will produce 481 gold medals.

Hangzhou Asian Games takes "China's New Era, Hangzhou New Asian Games"as its orientation,"Chinese characteristics, Asian style and splendor"as its goal, upholds the concept of"green, intelligent, thrifty and civilized"and adheres to the principle of"Hangzhou is the main city and the whole province shares".

From April 25, 2023, the three-day Hangzhou Asian Games Delegation Head Meeting was held in Hangzhou, attended by representatives of the Olympic Committees of 45 Asian countries and regions.On June 15, the 100-day countdown to the Hangzhou Asian Games, the kindling of the Asian Games was successfully collected in Damojiao Mountain, Liangzhu Ancient City Ruins Park, Hangzhou; on the same day, the medals of the Hangzhou Asian Games were released in "Hushan".On June 29, the results of the Second World Media Conference of the Hangzhou Asian Games were released at the Hangzhou International Expo Center.In July, the athletes' registration for the Hangzhou Asian Games was successfully completed, and the Olympic Committees of 45 countries (regions) of the Asian Olympic Council had registered, with the number of athletes reaching more than 12500, and the scale of registration was the largest ever.

On the evening of September 23, 2023, the opening ceremony of the 19th Asian Games was solemnly held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.President Xi Jinping attended the opening ceremony.
